Welcome to the quartoReport wiki!

This is my first attempt at creating a package for what was a "collection of functions and scripts"--approach earlier. I am heavily influenced and inspired by all the great talks that happened at posit::conf(2023). In this wiki the aim is to journal the progress of development as I go along. If/when others join on this journey they will hopefully document their experiences as we all learn along the way.

usethis Is a Life Saver

I had tried my hand at package development in R many years ago. However, after getting to know devtools, and usethis, I feel I should have made an effort to learn about these earlier. They really take all the tedium out of the package development process. I would even say that they make the process positively enjoyable. So all the thanks to the creators of these packages.

pdfLatex can be finnicky

I was able to generate a correctly formatted qmd file. However, when rendered it gave couple of errors:

1. Curiously, first error was with kableExtra::kable_styling call. Kept giving error it was not found, but after I re-typed it by hand that worked. I do not see a typo, but I will look again.
2. The second error was in the LateX log file. I could not make much sense out of the error by it talked about not finding tabu.sty file. I know that this works on my laptop otherwise. I have a feeling that renv has something to do with this. I wll try to run this out of the sandbox and see if I get better success.
