Rather than just using the system python interpreter by default, it would be useful to be able to constrain the python version to a particular value. This makes environment reproduction across a group of people far easier.
It would also be desirable if this could go and fetch the specified python version. This ticket should investigate the ergonomics/mechanics around using the cpython recipe as the python distribution.
