This is a bug in MyPy when using NumPy; hoping it's fixed in 0.981 (out today, pre-commit's mirror should update tomorrow) This should be the fix:

Will go ahead and pin a Python 3.7 version of numpy for now, maybe can do better later. Technically, NumPy doesn't support 3.7 so this isn't that "wrong" (it was for Pyodide, which was 3.10 only and still breaking due to the 3.8 usage). |
