StudyPal is an Android application targeted for people who wants to increase their productivity, strengthen their study habits by video chatting with others while studying, streaming their study sessions, and sharing them with their study pals all over the world. The concept of the app is the inspired by the "Study with me" videos on YouTube and other video sharing platforms.
With the internet, new ways of studying have also emerged. There are thousands of productivity applications in the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store. Many students prefer studying in a library since libraries provide a motivating environment. However, some students may prefer the comfort of a home and still wish for the productivity boost the library provides. To meet the gap, the video concept of “Study with Me” has emerged. These videos appear on the video upload websites like YouTube or streaming websites like Twitch. A “Study with Me” video consists of a person studying real time sometimes with an additional background music. The idea behind traditional study groups are extending to the internet and surpasses the original concept.
These newly emerged concepts show us the demand for online study communities.
