- It's likely that at some point changes to Anki will break our addon(s).
- There are already at least two bugs in Anki impacting us which are most easily fixed in Anki itself.
- FlashGrid is potentially beneficial to almost any Anki user (unlike FlashGrab).
- It would work better with better Anki integration.
- Learning about and installing FlashGrid is currently an extra (though very easy) step.
- Mobile: FlashGrid is currently for desktop Anki only. As part of Anki's codebase it could make its way into mobile more smoothly. (Should we contact the AnkiDroid team?)
So, it would be good to develop a relationship with Damien E. and see if FlashGrid could at some point be incorporated into standard Anki. He would also know how compatible the current design is with mobile OSes. (I've just used standard HTML and a subset of the toolkits Anki itself uses, so that should be pretty doable.)
