This analysis compares HF propagation characteristics between regions north and south of the 45°N latitude line (GN55-IN25), from the perspective of VE1ATM station (44.37°N).

Key findings:

  • South of 45°N shows dramatic advantages on high bands (12m/10m)
    • 12m: +26% reliability, +17.9 dB SNR
    • 10m: +22% reliability, +35.9 dB SNR
  • North of 45°N performs better on mid-bands (17m/15m)
    • 17m: +17.7 dB SNR advantage
    • 15m: +5.5% reliability advantage
  • Low bands (40m/30m) relatively neutral
    • 30m shows nearly identical performance

Files added:

  • ANALYSIS_GN55_IN25_COMPARISON.md: Comprehensive report with findings, recommendations, and operating strategies
  • analysis_gn55_in25_comparison.py: Python script using DVOACAP prediction engine to calculate propagation to 12 European grids
  • gn55_in25_comparison_results.json: Full detailed prediction data (168 predictions per region across 4 time points and 7 bands)

Analysis demonstrates that the 45°N parallel represents a real propagation boundary with significant band-dependent differences.
