Is default.js WebSocket.prototype.onSocketConnect() still in use?

With the inclusion of 'ws' library, is the websocket/default.js code going to be removed?

There is a memory issue related to websocket based socket.io connections that I would like to propose a pull request for, but is not an issue if default.js is being deprecated in favor of logic provided by ws.
