I started off using this module and ended up totally rewriting it. If you are interested, here is my code. Feel free to make a new branch for me to do this PR against if you don't want it in master but do want the code. As a side note, this work is homed at genebean/genebean-zabbixagent@cc14c93 now... the fork exists because I wanted to offer to share. I am happy to work together with you on this if you like.
