Based on Thomas Risberg feedback, the only implementation we are aware of is OracleXmlObjectMappingHandler from spring-data-jdbc-ext which was part of the Oracle pack later turned into JDBC extensions project. Since that project is retired and was never updated for more recent Spring versions, I am going to turn this issue to a reminder to deprecate this interface in Spring Framework 5.2, and remove it in the next release.
