Description
In consideration of #1, there is a possible way around this:
The way LD creates Answers for a Quiz is kind of funny. The Answer Type only really matters for how the score gets calculated. The same Answers Repeater (With minor changes—Like a radio button as opposed to a checkbox—based on the Answer Type) is used. In fact, it is so wonky that if you save a Post without any Answers, it doesn't let you create new Answers unless you manually add that HTML in via the Dev Console (Found this out the hard way).
If instead of creating a new Answer Type, we instead used what is already there (Single Answer for a single correct answer, Multiple Choice for multiple correct answers) and had our tool instead pre-populate the Answer Repeater with its results that would likely do what we need within the confines of LD.
I'm thinking of a TinyMCE control for the WYSIWYG Editor to pop up an Image Map creator, which will then use its results to populate the Answers Repeater properly. From there, on the frontend the Answers will get hidden via CSS/JS if an Image Map is present.
