USB Wi Fi Dongles

This is a list of Wi-Fi dongles that have been tested with ev3dev. Please add any device you may have. Please use the name listed by running lsusb, including the the USB vendor id and product id (the part that looks like 0000:0000).

0846:9030 NetGear, Inc. WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 [Atheros AR9271]- This is the "officially supported" adapter for the official LEGO firmware.

7392:7811 Edimax Technology Co., Ltd EW-7811Un 802.11n Wireless Adapter [Realtek RTL8188CUS]- This adapter is also mentioned as compatible with the official LEGO firmware on the LEGO Education website.

0bda:8176 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8188CUS 802.11n WLAN Adapter- This adapter is available from Dexter Industries - their version has EP-N85008GS printed on the device itself.
- It is not officially supported by LEGO, but is known to work with the official firmware since it uses the same chipset as the Edimax.
Built-in Wi-Fi on the Raspberry Pi 3 is also supported.

148f:5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapter- This is a very small dongle with no identification

2001:3a02 D-Link Corp. DWL-G132 [Atheros AR5523]- This is pretty big

0df6:0079 Sitecom Europe B.V.- This is a Sitecom model WLA-3001 v1001 (small print on the USB connector) Device is recognized, but no driver loaded.
There is a list of Linux Wi-Fi drivers here. If you have a device on this list and it doesn't seem to be working, let us know. We may just need to turn on the driver in the kernel configuration.
