What issue are you seeing?

I need to press 'space' twice to get it back but most of the time it will be interrupted and I need to retype 'continue'. It happens frequently.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

Open the hapi on the phone. I think maybe the thread on the phone is seizing the session right.

From the current code, simply opening HAPI on the phone should not intentionally switch the local session into remote mode.

I checked the verified mode-switch path in the web app. The web UI only switches a session to remote through an explicit action: SessionChat calls switchSession(), the client POSTs /api/sessions/:id/switch, and the hub forwards that as a switch RPC to the CLI. I did not find a separate code path where just opening the phone view triggers that switch.

Relevant code:

• cli/src/modules/common/launcher/BaseLocalLauncher.ts:93 - when a message arrives in local mode, the launcher switches out of local mode

So the current code suggests:

• Opening the phone/web thread alone should not seize the session.
• Sending a message from the phone/web UI can switch a local session out of local mode so the remote side can handle the message.

If it is switching even when you only open the phone thread and do not send anything, I could not find code that intentionally does that, so that would look like a bug.

• Which agent was running when this happened: Claude, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, or OpenCode?
• Does it still happen if you open the phone session and do not tap Switch to remote and do not send any message?
• Can you share the CLI or hub debug log lines from the moment the mode flips?
