Custom Markdown Extensions

It would be great to be able to add custom markdown extensions. In my guide i want to be able to write:

CUSTOM_NOTE: "some text"

That textile code should result in any html i specified. I noticed that the guides/markdown_extensions already contains some extensions. I want to be able to add a custom ruby file to my guides project which itself contains the custom markdown extensions. I don't want to modify the guides sources itself.

The best thing would be to add a dynamic require inside of guides.rb

e.g:

require "#{root}/guides_extension"
