this is a complete gutting of a plant that takes minimum 30 minutes to make in any reasonable capacity that barely does anything on station besides get you away, or moves an officer 6 tiles who promptly shotgun slugs you in face because le unarrestable |

if it was like one or two rounds and something that took some modicum of effort then sure fine but this is done every round by clicking on a goddamn plant 5-10 times and waiting, not to mention this "department strength" is literally just outfitting validhunters with weapons and "weapons" such as bluespace activity plants with high potency. It's never been useful against security because it doesn't kill them, if you hit a sec with a nonlethal teleport plant they just walk back and keep shooting at you, having suffered nothing but a minor delay. If an antag gets teleported, particularly in the middle of an antagonist activity i.e. botanist/assistant who got free shit from botany because "why not its not harmful (:" walking in on a murder and instead of being the expected relatively harmless protected by murderbone rule non-security officer, just throws a hail of tomatoes as if the murder is a bad joke and drags the body off while the antagonist is effectively incapable of approaching through the tornato of produce headed in the direction of medical, having lost both their target and any pretense of stealth while giving botany more reason to mass-distribute yet more tomatoes. Your only real option is to either get lucky with a ranged weapon and crit the jackass before getting sent offscreen in a random direction or to keep throw mode on and hope the supply of tomatoes is exhausted before anything important happens (it won't be) |

cant you just do the same thing with less effort by going to a protolathe and throwing crystals? |
bad design doesnt beget more bad deisgn, also can you get 200 crystals within the first 20 minutes of the round? |

artificial bluespace crystals are printable in the sci lathe innit? so if someone researched them, and wanted to blow all mats the moment a miner deposits them in the ORM, they could reasonably get that in less than 20 minutes, in absurd enough quantities. And they would perform better for throwing at people than plants since plants need nutrients, water, potency increases, gene editing, and weed removal all while juggling growing Gaia in order to have plants that even remotely compare to a crystal, and with this change, all that effort would still be worse than a crystal. I can't think of any other item that has an arbitrary throw distance limit of 2 set on it in the game either. |
this dude never played the game ever apparently, thats all thats ever happened since 2016. I suppose the days of Bob, Adam and others is long over but you cant just forget the morbillion ided pr's that happened leaving us with the gentrified spacemen we have today. |

The Tele radius should not be affected if used on self by squishing in-hand, it's only slightly longer than a blink and can be done with crystals that are accessible at all protolathes. |
