Pre-Alpha. This page describes behavior that may change.

This section is for the day-2 operator. You have Ze running, a few peers up, and you need to know what it is doing, how to watch it in real time, and how to restart it without dropping traffic.

Pages

  • Starting and Stopping. ze init, signals, systemd, health checks.
  • Show commands. The ten most-used ze show invocations with example output. Points at the full command reference for the long tail.
  • Monitoring. The live peer dashboard, the event stream, and the Prometheus metrics endpoint.
  • Logging. Levels, backends, per-subsystem overrides, and runtime changes.
  • Operational Reports. ze show warnings and ze show errors from the in-process report bus.
  • Healthcheck. Service probes that drive announce and withdraw through watchdog groups.
  • MRT Analysis. The offline ze-analyse tool for RIPE RIS and RouteViews data.
  • Upgrade and Restart. Replace the binary, reload the config, or restart the daemon without dropping BGP sessions. Covers Graceful Restart, Long-Lived GR, and the bgp-persist plugin.
