any plans to support debugging via netcoredbg since theres licensing issues with vsdbg?

It would be also amazing, if there were default debug and run tasks derived from launchSettings.json MSDN docs

You basically have the run the command: dotnet run --launch-profile "some-launch-profile"

This should be supported for both just running and debuging

The debugger just builds the application and on the Console we get the errors message

@kevin-mueller I got your fork of the extension working for windows. Single function/unit testing works, with debugger support as well. I had to change the tasks.json and bundle a .ps1 helper file because Zed was getting confused about escapes and it's the only way I got this working. I also had to change somethings in the csharp.rs. I vibecoded this (it's probably not good code, nor optimal way to do this), but I have no idea about Rust, Powershell, Zed extensions, debug adapters, dotnet debug, etc. So if it's shit sorry, but hey at least it works!

I will try and make it compatible with the linux/macos version since I only focused on making it work for Windows first using ur version as a template to see if it worked at all.

Will make a PR or share here asap.

I also got my windows version to be able to debug using the default debug runners so no need to even create workspace debug file. I tested with some windows forms app projects I have and so far it all seems to be working. @kevin-mueller I will PR when possible so we can get a PR on the official extension if okey with you?

@nicocossiom Awesome! Feel free to open a PR at my repo, though I can't promise anything 😅 . I'm well aware that my repo, while functional, will not meet the quality standards of the official extension. It's a lot of workarounds.

I’m a bit short on time right now, but when I get the chance I’ll fork your repo and work on a version that combines your implementation (Linux/macOS) with mine (Windows).

The idea would be to merge both approaches and try to get a final working version that supports all platforms for the C# Zed extension.

I’ll open a PR once I have something solid
