The most basic exercise:
e|--0-----------0--|
B|-----0-----0-----|
G|--------0--------|
D|--------0--------|
A|-----0-----0-----|
E|--0-----------0--|
The following exercises should be repeated for each bass string (6,5,4), just like this first example shows
e|----------0-----------------0-----------------0-------|
B|-------0-----0-----------0-----0-----------0-----0----|
G|----0-----------0-----0-----------0-----0-----------0-|
D|-------------------------------------0----------------|
A|-------------------0----------------------------------|
E|-0----------------------------------------------------|
e|----0-----------0-|
B|-------0-----0----|
G|----------0-------|
D|------------------|
A|------------------|
E|-0----------------|
Connect the bass note with the first not we pick:
e|-------0-------|
B|----0-----0----|
G|-0-----------0-|
D|---------------|
A|---------------|
E|-0-------------|
e|-0-----------0-|
B|----0-----0----|
G|-------0-------|
D|---------------|
A|---------------|
E|-0-------------|
Let's mix it up a little
e|-------0-|
B|-0-------|
G|----0----|
D|---------|
A|---------|
E|-0-------|
e|----0----|
B|-0-------|
G|-------0-|
D|---------|
A|---------|
E|-0-------|
(You can also start adding chords to it)
B|-0--------0-|
G|-------0----|
e|----0-------|
D|------------|
A|------------|
E|-0----------|
You don't always want to arpeggiate using only strings 1,2,3. You can also use other groups of three like 2,3,4; to make it sound more "bass-ish"
