[BUG] - Fatal not a git repository

Describe the bug
The statusbar should not give this message, "fatal not a git repository (or any of the parent directories) .git"
It should be more user-friendly, like "not in a git repository"

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Open a project/dir what isn't a git repo.

Expected behavior
A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

Actually, the parent is a git repo
