ANNOUNCEMENT: Nextcloud 31 ("Hub 10") adds custom share links natively 🚀

Thanks to @Pytal (and others) the feature this app implements will be available natively (without needing to install any extra app) in Nextcloud 31! 🥳. Of course in a much nicer integrated way than the tacked-on interface this app provides.

The PR for it was merged recently and it was included in beta 4 of NC 31released last week.

This is great news ! Now you won't have to wait for me to get around to updating this app for new Nextcloud versions (the downside of working on like 50 Nextcloud related projects on-and-off 😆).

I will archive this repository on Github when Nextcloud 31 releases (2025-02-25).
You will still be able to use it on older NC versions.
I may create one final release before that to edit the app description to tell people not to install it anymore as that is no longer required.

Thanks for the support over the years 💚 and special thanks to @DecaTec for originally creating the app.
Apparently the newest version had >4k downloads (github statistics, surely some are bots, but still), I had no idea that many people used this scrappy little app, maybe I should have given it more attention 😆.

I just upgraded to 31.0.3 but I can't find an option in the Administration settings.
you mention "you just need to enable it in the admin settings". can you add a short note, where exactly that is in 31?

and I can see it in the File/ Share dialog.

but I was hoping to make use of this for a Talk/ Meeting link. but seems not possible (yet), right?

Talk links are a totally separate system, I am not aware of any possibility of changing the links (but I have not looked into it).

And for anyone who would like to activate from command line / script, it is doable with:
occ config:app:set core shareapi_allow_custom_tokens --value yes
