The examples notebook for this project was fairly outdated and would not run anymore, so this PR gets it to run again.

The examples notebook for this project was fairly outdated and would not
run anymore, so this PR gets it to run again. Diff is to large to check manually, but the changes are very similar to the ones in #104 , as most of the code is the same.
