microsoft apt repo gets disabled on linux mint when updating vscode

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

• VS Code Version: 1.104.0-insider
• OS Version: linux mint 22.1 cinnamon

Steps to Reproduce:

1. install the .deb from https://code.visualstudio.com/insiders/
2. enable the checkbox to add the microsoft apt repo during installation (i did this with linux mint's installer, not sure what that looks like in the CLI)
3. open "software sources" and check "additional repositories" and ensure the microsoft repo is enabled (might need to enable it initially, i don't remember):
   
4. wait for an update to vscode-insiders, then install it with linux mint's update manager
5. navigate back to software sources and see that the microsoft repo has disabled itself:

For reference, I use an Ubuntu WSL command line to test a lot of these issues, so I'm not as familiar with that UI.
I currently have the post-install script set to overwrite the sources file so that the user gets changes such as new signing keys as needed. I wonder whether that could be causing the box to get unchecked.

When the box is unchecked, are there any issues updating VS Code?

i think i saw a vscode-insiders update show up in the update manager even when the box was unchecked, which indicates that it may be an issue with linux mint's software sources gui. i'll double check next time there's an update and if it still works with the box unchecked i'll open an issue at https://github.com/linuxmint/mintsources
