#1853 will remove the Stellarator model until a license agreement is reached to reintroduce the model into PROCESS. The internal CCFE GitLab provides a version of PROCESS with the Stellarator capabilities on the <...> branch.

Steps that need to be taken to re-introduce the model back into PROCESS are:

  • Get a license agreement for the main Stellarator code
  • Remove the use of the KIT HCPB model in the Stellarator when the blanket has been enabled
    • Replace the KIT blanket with one of the CCFE blanket models. NOTE: the CCFE models are missing (obvious) calculations of the helium ratio and tritium breeding ratio needed for various constraints this model enables.
    • Remove code referencing internal EUROFusion reports that exist in stellarator_fwbs.f90.
