its not good and has not been changed to reflect the fact that viro is balanced around thresholds and no one is willing to rework it. better to rip the bandaid off now rather than let it slowly falls into disrepair while everyone pretends it doesn't exist. and well simply most of the time its just boring while ghosts wish that something more interesting spawned. |

This, the only thing that really changed was a buff to virus cures (making them harder to cure), and people getting better at curing viruses/making the chemical cures, AFAIK. Also, people realized that its more worth it to just cure all sentient viruses in case they start good but go bad, maybe if sentient viruses had stronger helping/healing abilities people wouldn't just cure them on sight. |

biggest problem with senti disease is definitely how hard it is to get started, you really need the perfect storm in order to even get off your feet and start being even a mild detriment |

Virology doesn't do anything with virus curing. That's chemistry. Which is the real issue. |
vaccines are where the 0.1u's come from chemistry just clicks a couple buttons to make pills |

There's also a issue where you roll sentient disease late in the round with everyone having a high resistance viro disease - so you either manage to infect one random monkey man, or you insta die. |

I'm up for it being removed while a rework's being thought of, it's not easy to play it and it just takes some half-brained crew to notice you're coughing once to rush to medbay and get a vaccine from it. Plus there's a high chance a roundstart virus done by a bored viro will overtake your sentient disease. My experience as a sentient disease are usually always bad, usually it will begin by infecting a patient zero who goes AFK, sprints to medbay as soon as you click the cough button once, or will get overtaken by an OP virus made the first 5 minutes roundstart. It's literally unplayable at this state, you either need to rely on the station being a chaos or medbay being nonexistent for you to actually have a chance to succeed (if someone who likes to ruin antag rounds doesn't come first by breaking into viro and spamming vaccines first). |

talked about this on the discord for the last few days and no one has the will to rework this to a fun to play state. sucks to let this one go but it really doesn't mesh well with how viruses work nowadays.
if anyone manages to fix this up your welcome to reenable just a simple number change.
this is an unmaintained piece of shit who should have been gone a long time ago it never adds anything to the round theres better things that threat could be spent on that would be significantly better use of the roll.
