Introduces a new type of midround antagonist: an eldritch horror:
obraz

This little bugger, much like old-gone borer, works around entering people's heads.
It can either appear as a random event, or can be bought by curator for 16 telecrystals once the server pop is above 20.
Horror's main thing is consuming crewmember souls, and using those souls to mutate and grow even stronger.

To steal a soul, first you activate a "Seek soul" ability on your HUD, which opens a radial menu offering up to 4 targets.

horrormenu.mp4

Choose one of them, and they'll become your selected target. You can only eat soul of your current target, meaning you have to track them down. To help with that, you immediately acquire a pinpointer on your HUD that will point itself to your target.

You start with increased mobility. While not as fast as a running human, you are small enough to fit in vents and even airlocks!
To squeeze yourself through an airlock, simply attack it.

Once you get to your target, it's time to strike and enter their head! You start with an ability that knocks everyone around you onto the floor, giving you enough time to enter their head.
obraz

Press Alt+Click on someone to start infesting them.
Once inside a host, you can begin absorbing their soul by clicking on the associated ability.
While inside a host, you can also temporarily take over their mind, making you the one in control, you can chat with them and even inject chemicals directly into their bloodstream. You can also leave your host at any time.
obraz

I have consumed someone's soul. Now what?

Congratulations so far, but don't rest easy just yet, as the more alert the crew becomes, the more they will do to stop you.
To help you achieve your objectives, you can spend consumed souls on abilities and permanent upgrades that will surely make you survive a lot longer.

Click the "Mutate" action on your HUD, and a window with all mutations will appear:
obraz
Keep in mind, you can only mutate while outside of a host.

Most abilities cost chemicals to use. You can see the amount of chemicals you possess on your HUD. You generate chemicals at a slow rate whilst inside an alive host. As a small note, you also regenerate your health while inside a host.

Further below i listed all mutations and what they do.

Abilities:

obraz
Grow tentacle: Costs 2 soul points. Needs 50 chemicals to activate.
This ability lets you grow a tentacle arm on your host. Tentacle is a weapon that can be used at short (2 tile) range that deals 17 damage on hit.
It can slowly pry open unbolted airlocks at speed about 50% longer than an armblade.
On disarm intent, it can be used to instantly disarm your enemy.
On grab intent, it can be used to apply an instant aggressive grab, as well as throw opponents.

obraz
Transfer between hosts: Costs 1 soul point. No chemical cost.
This ability lets you transfer from one host to another. You can use it while controlling. Takes 20 seconds to move you into target.
However, grabbing the target reduces this time at the cost of stealth. Good for stealth, and does exceptionally well when paired with tentacle's instant grab.

obraz
Revive host: Costs 2 soul points. Needs 250 chemicals to activate.
Is your host dead? Do you wanna help a dead guy out enact his revenge by bringing him back to life then killing his murderer? Apply the revive, and he'll be right back on his feet in no time!

obraz
View memory: Costs 1 soul point. No chemical cost.
Lets you fully peek into your host's memory, telling you their notes(including antag ones), their recent speech, and their true name.
Great for blackmailing a traitor into working with you!

obraz
Chameleon skin: Costs 1 soul point. Has an upkeep of 5 chemicals while active.
Lets your body turn near invisible! Great for sneaking up into a potential host.
Remember: any kind of attack breaks the invisibility instantly.

obraz
Lube spill: Costs 1 soul point. Needs 30 chemicals to activate.
While outside of a host, you can force your glands to spray lube all around you for a small duration.
Great for crowd control, or if people keep dragging your target away from you.

Upgrades:

Those provide fully passive benefits once unlocked:
Electrocharged tentacle - 3 soul points - Upgrades your starting ability to knock someone over into shocking them, knocking them down unconcious for a little while, so they don't see you crawling into their head.
Efficient chemical glands - 2 soul points - Increases your passive chemical regeneration from 2 to 4.
Independent chemical glands - 2 soul points - Lets you regenerate chemicals without the need for a host!
Regenerative skin - 1 soul point - Lets you regenerate your own health over time without need for host. Can mitigate the effects of unsuitable atmos, such as plasmafloods.
Rhino skin - 2 soul points - Increases your fragile health from 65 to 130, greately increasing survivalibility outside of a host.
Reflective fluids - 1 soul point - While exiting a host, they won't be alerted about it, and you'll be covered in reflective fluid that makes you invisible. If invisibility is unlocked, it'll become active itself when you exit a host.
Sharpened teeth - 1 soul point - Increases your biting damage from 10 to 20.
Advanced reagent synthesis - 2 soul points - Lets you synthetize more advanced chemicals into your hosts, including adrenaline.
Precise probosci - 1 soul point - Lets you take control over host's brain noticably faster.
Insulated probosci - 2 soul points - Increases time it takes for a mind-controlled host to regain control over their body. Doesn't affect the effect of body control being returned to host in reaction to being hit.

Okay there's a weird tentacle monster in my head what do i do?

Horror is extremely vulnerable when outside of a host. Try baiting it out then smashing it down. One can also be surgically removed out of your head via "organ manipulation" surgery. Try to keep it away from vents, pull or push it away.

I'm a curator why would i waste 16 TC on this?

Horror can (hopefully) provide a very useful and versatile ally, being able to heal you, equip you with a deadly weapon, control other people and more. Also, if you want, you can help the horror consume souls, doing side-tasks, similarly to a contractor, growing stronger and generally having more stuff to do.

I'm a curator, but i lost my horror!

Worry not, for with the horror comes it's summoning horn:
obraz
Blowing into it will call the horror back to you after a short time, provided it's not missing or dead.
Keep in mind, the horn is very loud and may attract unwanted attention, so don't overuse it.
People other than you can also use the horn to recall the horror, but it'll break after their use.

Wiki Documentation

This is a sort of "final PR" for horror, meaning everything you need to know about it can be found here.

Changelog

🆑
rscadd: Added new midround antag - the horror! Also available to traitor curators for 16TC.
imageadd: added tons of icons for the horror
/:cl:

Thank you to everyone that helped during the testmerge, hopefully most (if not all) bugs have been dealt with.

Not gonna lie, I love the horror and all but the idea of it just being able to pop up out of a vent, knock you down, and permanently remove 20 max health from you with near no counter-play is a little rough. 20% of your health is really significant and the fact that there is no way to fix this other than straight up cloning or body-swapping is kinda uncool imo.

no counter-play
can shove it off mid-infection
can hide in locker and call for help
can weld vents
can attack it during the knockdown

Also, as far as testmerge goes, nobody on the station cares about the health loss beside security (which are harder to infect) and miners (deathwish). Keep in mind, this is an antag that is supposed to be a major annoyance to crew, and help for ongoing antags
