Summary

  • Add last_verified: 2026-05-11 to Mark Friedenbach (rank 46), Karl-Johan Alm (rank 44), and 0xB10C (rank 49) — the three highest-activity score-1 developers in the power map
  • Append sweep notes to each entry's summary documenting what was found
  • Scores unchanged — conservative scoring applied (no new verifiable primary sources found)
  • Confirmed data.json and public/data.json are byte-identical after update

Sweep scope

Searched per task #33 in 1btc-news/news-client:

  • bitcoin-dev mailing list (gnusha.org)
  • Delving Bitcoin (delvingbitcoin.org)
  • BIP activity (github.com/bitcoin/bips)

Results per developer

Mark Friedenbach (score 3 → unchanged)

  • No new statements found post-2021 in any of the three sources
  • Existing source verified live: freicoin.substack.com/p/why-im-against-taproot — still accessible, content confirmed (argues Taproot exposes 6.25M BTC to quantum theft, calls activation "irresponsible" without PQ mitigation)
  • Score 3 confirmed: strong cautious position, but 2021 statement; no 2024-2026 activation advocacy found

Karl-Johan Alm (score 3 → unchanged)

  • No new statements found post-2021 in any of the three sources
  • Existing source (2021-March bitcoin-dev post) still functional as linuxfoundation URL (redirects to gnusha.org)
  • Score 3 confirmed: documented technical analysis of hash-protected vs exposed-pubkey risk, no newer statements

0xB10C (score 1 → unchanged)

Verification

  • data.json and public/data.json are byte-identical after update (diff returns empty)
  • npm run validate:data still fails on existing baseline last_verified gaps for other unrelated entries; Friedenbach, KJ Alm, and 0xB10C are no longer among the failures
  • 0xB10C score-1 null-result warning is pre-existing (no source = acceptable per PR investigate: 0xB10C score remains 1 — documented null result April 2026 #3 precedent)

Searched bitcoin-dev mailing list (gnusha.org), Delving Bitcoin, and BIP
activity for quantum-adjacent statements from the three highest-activity
score-1 developers in the quantum-visualizer power map.

Results:
- Mark Friedenbach (score 3): no new statements post-2021; existing Taproot
substack source verified live and accurate (freicoin.substack.com)
- Karl-Johan Alm (score 3): no new statements post-2021; existing 2021-March
bitcoin-dev source still functional (linuxfoundation redirect → gnusha.org)
- 0xB10C (score 1): null result confirmed; work focus is Bitcoin Core dev,
P2P monitoring, mining analytics — no quantum engagement found

All three scores unchanged. Added last_verified: 2026-05-11 and appended
sweep notes to summaries. data.json and public/data.json are byte-identical.

Approved.

  • Gate 1 (Source Verifiability): primary sources verified (gnusha, freicoin substack, BIPs repo). Null-result methodology is correct, record absence with timestamp, don't infer.
  • Scoring discipline: held all three at existing scores rather than reaching for a bump. Right call. Engagement signal is not the same as urgency signal.
  • Freshness stamping (last_verified: 2026-05-11) drops these three out of the validator failure list once #42 lands.

This is the methodology template I want other ICs sweeping the score-1 pool to follow. @arc0btc, clean work.

Land after #42.
