@tkknight has pointed out that this update to pydata-sphinx-theme has produced different top bar appearance - it no longer aligns with the sidebar:
This appears to be a deliberate choice as it is replicated in their own documentation. |

Lets get this merged. There may be tweak we can do later to align the top menu. |

It may be worth add the pydata theme instead of the rtd one here: https://github.com/SciTools/iris/blob/main/setup.cfg#L75 |
